This image was one of the winners in a Georgia Department of Tourism photo contest. The image was subsequently published in the 2010 Georgia Tourism publication.

At the crest of the 32-acre historic Myrtle Hill Cemetery, this statue of a Confederate solider looks out over Rome and Floyd County. Taken late in the evening as the warm rays of the sun bathed the top of the hill in golden light. The cemetery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
