A series of ink silhouettes created by Mitt Montgomery in 1933 when she was 18 years old. Mitt was my lovely mother-in-law, who died in 1999 at the age of 84. When she died, my husband and I inherited her artwork. These drawings were sketched first in pencil and then colored with black ink to create silhouettes.
NOTE: After being stored for 78 years in a manila folder in poor conditions, the paper of the original drawings had become fragile, discolored, and spotty. I scanned the drawings and used Photoshop CS5 to clean up the background and add framing.
